My DNA Data Upload
Why we offer this
We offer Bring Your Own DNA because we want you to have answers, and we understand that spending money on yet another DNA test is unappealing.
We firmly believe our blood test gives better-quality data. We also know that the swab or spit test you have already taken can get you to a quicker answer for the nagging questions you have now, and it raises the return on the investment you already made in your DNA.
Our promise
We will run a rigorous review of your uploaded DNA file within 48 hours (usually faster) to confirm whether it contains the information needed to create the report you requested at a high enough quality. We will not produce a report we know to be misleading or of inferior quality. As part of that review, we will also determine whether your DNA file can support any of the other reports available across the site. We are agnostic to the source of your DNA file and will test whatever you have, and you can send up to 3 separate DNA files, because combining across sources can give you better coverage. We will send you an email with the result of our review, along with the list of reports site-wide that we would be able to produce for you if you chose to order them.
If your DNA file cannot support the report you requested, here is what happens:
- we check a second file at no charge (if you have tested with more than one company in the past) and combine both to get the most complete coverage possible from the files you have already invested in;
- if that still falls short, you choose: put the full amount you paid toward any report you are interested in or our DNA Blood Test, which will enable you to order all reports site-wide, or get a full refund instead (we will waive the $50 processing fee).
Once you have checked out, we will direct you to the page where you can upload your DNA data. The link is in your order confirmation email as well.
If you have run your DNA through another company and do not have a copy of the file, we will do our best to guide you through how to get the DNA file. Your DNA is yours. You own it no matter which company you ran it with, and getting a copy of it for yourself is your right.
