Why does the test start with a lab visit?
To build your guides we need a sample so we can read about 1.9 million lines of DNA we use. Our research-grade lab analysis is more comprehensive than a standard at-home swab, which is why your sample is processed at a Labcorp Patient Service Center.
What information do you need to process my order?
To process your DNA test we need your legal name, gender, and date of birth. To customize your recommendations, we also collect your height, weight, activity level, and fitness goals.
Who runs the DNA test?
Intrinsic Genomics works with Labcorp, a top-rated lab testing company in the United States. After you order your DNA test, we send you a lab requisition form to take to the Labcorp Patient Service Center near you.
Do you mark up the lab test?
No. The lab test is Labcorp’s fee, passed through to you at cost. We don’t add a markup. It’s the one outside cost in your order, which is why it’s the only amount we can’t refund once your blood has been drawn. We make our money on the guides, not the lab.
How long does it take?
Please allow 6 to 8 weeks from the date you visit a local Labcorp Patient Service Center for your DNA test to be completed and your requested guide(s) to be generated.
Do I need to test again for more guides?
No. One sample produces the DNA file behind all of your Intrinsic Genomics guides, so any future guides build on the same data without a new test.
