You could set a clock by it. The lights go down after lunch and you are reading the same email for the third time while everyone else seems fine.
Three completely different things produce that exact afternoon, and from the inside they feel identical.
For some people it is the food. The same plate that is steady fuel for one person sets off a climb and a drop in another. Same lunch, different ride.
For some people it is the timing. Not what, when. The same lunch at noon and at two does not produce the same afternoon, and which one costs you depends on where your own body clock sits. Eat while your rhythm is still climbing and the dip is shallow and you are back inside an hour. Eat after it turns and you hit the floor between three and four and do not come back until dinner. Your report draws both curves for you, so you can see what an hour costs. Coffee runs on its own clock too: some are done with it by eleven, others still carry this morning’s cup.
And for some people it is the pressure. This one catches people out, because it does not feel like pressure. It feels like hunger. Under a heavy load some bodies pull hard toward bread and sweets in particular, and hunger arrives as a mood long before it arrives as a stomach. Those two run on the same wiring, so years of rearranging lunch were aimed at the wrong thing entirely.
For most people it is one of the three. For plenty of people it is a combination, which is worse, because fixing one of them leaves the rest untouched and looks like nothing worked. You cannot tell from the inside which you are. Which is exactly why the lighter lunch worked once and then stopped.
So the question is not what to change about lunch. It is which of these are yours:
- What your lunch actually does to you
- Where lunch lands against your own body clock
- How long this morning’s coffee is still with you
- Whether your body answers pressure with hunger
- And potentially others
Your IG Answer Report tells you which of these are likely yours, and how to take them on: what to change about lunch, when your last coffee should be, or what to have ready for the days that go sideways.
So, would you rather keep rearranging lunch, or find out which afternoon you are really having?
