  • Why have we chosen to collect DNA with a blood test instead of saliva?

    Blood samples have proven to be a gold standard source of consumer DNA testing. DNA for biomarker genotyping and accuracy.


    Saliva-derived DNA contains a significantly lower genotyping accuracy rate (88.8%) when compared with the accuracy of blood-derived DNA (99.1%).

  • Can we use your product without having a blood test done?

    If you have had your DNA tested with another DNA testing company, like 23 & Me, you can upload your DNA file and save $150. Once you purchase a report, we will send you a link to upload your DNA file.


    We can work with most text DNA files.  If you are unsure if your DNA file is compatible with the Intrinsic Genomics platform, please contact us at ClientServices@intrinsicgenomics.com. Include your full name and the company where your DNA was tested, and we will let you know as soon as possible. There may be a $20 processing fee, but our response will include that information.


    If you have not had your DNA tested with another DNA testing company and are concerned about having a blood sample drawn for this test, contact us, and we can let you know if there are  alternatives in your area. Contact us at ClientServices@intrinsicgenomics.com.

  • How do you know the blood test is safe?

    We work with a top-rated CLIA-certified lab company that maintains the highest standards regarding the collection and handling of your sample. 

  • How do I know my DNA data is safe?

    Intrinsic Genomics stores your DNA data in an environment with the strictest security rules that meet HIPAA compliance standards.

  • What else will be done with my data?

    We will only use your DNA data to produce your reports and improve the service, which will lead to better information for you to use for your own benefit. We will never sell or allow a third party to use your DNA data.
